It's impossible to make marijuana on marijuana, which is what makes it horrible - the amounts people can consume are vastly greater, hundreds and hundreds of times larger than the threshold dose. Cannabis is the least toxic therapeutically active substance known to man. OTOH, can you OD so the physical experience is very negative and you will temporarily suffer bad side effects that can prevent activity and at least endanger your ability to respond to situations in a reasonable way? Sure.

My experience suggests an unhealthy degree of dizziness, nausea, trembling, blurred vision - in my case a "green" pallor (friends insisted on green rather than gray), difficulty with physical tasks such as standing up , go to unconscious moments etc.

I have already made a lot of potted brownies (old story, stop me if someone has already told you). I ate what I thought was a reasonable amount to be smashed. An hour or two passed, and I felt no effect. So I smashed a pile of brownies.
Well, once all this THC was finally assimilated into my system, I fainted. Difficult. I slept on time and had a loud hangover that lasted a day or two after. I vaguely remember having made wild dreams, but deep down I was out.
So yes, I think you can ingest more than you can handle safely. Could I have driven anywhere, or worked in any way outside my cocoon at home? No, it's not a staggering one, so I doubt you can kill yourself with a short-term frenzy, but I do not think you can guarantee a safe result if you combine it with other substances, which is the way guys gnarly I just want to party.
Sorry if it's a heresy to the pro-marijuana crowd. Yes, I was young and uneducated in the subtleties of weedology, but people always make bad decisions that are amplified by substances.
As much as human beings have experienced, you will never overdose singing marijuana. It just does not do that.
There was a show that was broadcast on CNN called High Profits, which I recommend everyone watch.
One of the cannabis workers made a statement once he tried to overdose one day. He deliberately tried. He could not do it.
I just watched a YouTube video of a guy eating over 2,000 milligrams of THC, which equates to 200 doses! He was fine. He continues to say that his body felt a bit slow the next day, but it was a good overall experience.

The oral LD50 of THC is about 500 mg / kg for rats / mice.
Thus, with a high concentration of cannabis (20% THC), a 70 kg person should consume 0.5 * 5 * 70 = 175 grams of cannabis, assuming that the human LD50 is about the same as that of rats / mice.
It is important to begin by saying that there has never been, to my knowledge, any documented case of marijuana use. The physiological effects of marijuana are self limiting and reach a stable state when smoked. There is therefore a limit to the amount of THC that can be absorbed by the lungs (but not necessarily by eating). The lethal dose of THC is so high that you would need to extract it and inject it to reach it; that is, normal consumption, or even extremely high consumption by normal delivery methods, will not give you enough THC to be deadly.
The answer, then, is that it is not really possible to have a deadly OD on marijuana.
If you do not talk about lethal DO, but something less dramatic, then I guess it depends on the symptoms we're talking about. Bad reactions occur, but any adverse effects are also self-limiting through the same mechanism that prevents overdose, and it is thought to be minimal. You can certainly get to the point where you wish you had not taken so much. This happens most easily with edible foods, but it can also happen if your tolerance is very low, or if you use a stress that is much stronger than what you are used to. When smoking or vaping, the overdose will generally not last too long (probably less than half an hour). With edibles, it can last much longer.

Another risk to mention is that people with latent schizophrenia can accidentally trigger this condition by using cannabis. This is quite rare however, and compared to drugs like alcohol, cannabis is much, much safer in its use. People have died regularly of an overdose of alcohol (called alcohol poisoning), but no one has ever died taking too much cannabis.

Emergency room staff will tell you that they have their share of "pot heads", but there is always something going on. As if the person had an anxious reaction or had overdosed another medicine.
